Barbara was on the team that developed and launched FX, the largest launch in cable history. As Senior Producer, she was involved with establishing the philosophy and identity of the channel and overseeing the original programming. It was at FX where she discovered Tom Bergeron, Jeff Probst and Phil Keoghan. She went on to become Vice President of Programming at 2Oth Television, in charge of developing talent and original programming for network, syndication and cable. During her tenure, she was part of a team which developed over 30 projects and produced and managed over 100 hours of television. As a producer she has developed and produced shows for CBS/King World, Sci-Fi Channell, TLC, IFC, BET, Telepictures, E!, Style, VH-1 and Fox Reality Channel. These shows include: The Soup, Style Court, Reality Remix, Celebrity Jury, Dream Team, Breakfast Time, and Judge Mooney.
After moving to Los Angeles, Karen was involved with the start-up and production of a variety of shows that aired on ABC and various syndication companies. She created, developed and sold shows for KingWorld/CBS, Fox, Buena Vista/Disney and Telepictures/Warner Bros., where she also found and developed hosts and on-air talent. She was Executive Producer of 2 top rated court shows “Texas Justice” and “Judge Alex” for 20th television and consulted on shows for Paramount, 20th Television and BET.
